The National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC), under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, has launched an ambitious fully residential training program in 3D Animation and Visual Effects (VFX), exclusively for youth from the North Eastern region of India. This initiative aims to empower aspiring digital content creators from the eight North Eastern states—Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura—by offering them an opportunity to build a career in India’s rapidly growing animation and VFX industry.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old as of June 2025. The minimum eligibility criteria include a 10+2 qualification or a 10th pass with at least three years of relevant industry experience. A nominal, non-refundable registration fee of ₹1,180 (including taxes) is applicable. Interested candidates can register online via the official NFDC website, with the last date for submission being 15th August 2025.
A total of 100 candidates will be selected through a comprehensive screening process to undergo this 8-month intensive training, which will be conducted in collaboration with NFDC’s training partner, Aptech Ltd. The training will take place at a state-of-the-art facility in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, and will be divided into two phases—six months of classroom-based instruction and two months of industry exposure through on-the-job training.
The curriculum will focus on hands-on modules in 3D Animation and VFX, with exposure to real-world workflows used by top studios in the entertainment and digital content industry. In addition, each selected participant will receive a high-performance laptop to support their learning journey.
Importantly, the entire training, including boarding, lodging, meals, training resources, and mentorship, will be provided completely free of cost. This initiative is especially significant as it seeks to bridge the digital skill gap and offer equitable access to career opportunities for talented youth from geographically and economically disadvantaged regions.
Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Joint Certificate issued by NFDC and the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET)—enhancing their employability and opening doors to the creative industry.
This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to inclusive growth by integrating the youth of the North East into India’s booming digital economy, for more details and register CLICK HERE
