The Ministry of Ayush has invited nominations for the prestigious National Dhanwantari Ayurveda Award 2025, which recognizes excellence and innovation in the field of Ayurveda. The award aims to honor exceptional Ayurvedic practitioners and scholars who have contributed significantly to the promotion and advancement of Ayurveda at the national and international levels.
OBJECTIVES OF THE AWARD
- To motivate Vaidyas and Ayurveda experts to adopt best practices in Ayurveda.
- To encourage excellence through healthy competition among practitioners, researchers, and educators in the field.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- The nominee must have made noteworthy contributions in areas such as promotion, teaching, research, policy-making, or integrating Ayurveda into national health programs.
- Should be a renowned Ayurvedic practitioner with at least 20 years of professional experience.
- The nominee must be aged 40 years or above.
- Must hold a recognized degree in Ayurveda as per the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine Act, 2020 or the Indian Medicine Central Council Act, 1970.
- Previous awardees of the same award will not be eligible again.
AWARD COMPONENTS
The awardee will receive a cash prize of ₹5 lakh, along with a Trophy, Sanad, Citation, and Shawl/Angvastram, as a mark of honor and appreciation.
NOMINATION AND SELECTION PROCESS
Nominations can be submitted by the practitioners themselves or by others on their behalf. Applications must be submitted online and will be scrutinized based on essential, desirable, and additional criteria. The final selection will be done based on a scoring system developed from the data sheet.
The award will be conferred during the Annual Ayurveda Day celebrations on 23rd September 2025, a national event that celebrates the ancient wisdom and relevance of Ayurveda.
