MyGov: Quiz on Partition Horrors Remembrance Day Registrations Open

The Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, in collaboration with MyGov, has launched a nationwide “Quiz on Partition Horrors Remembrance Day” to commemorate the tragic events surrounding the Partition of India. Scheduled for 14th August 2025, this quiz aims to sensitize young minds, especially school students, to the profound human suffering and consequences of the Partition.

Partition Horrors Remembrance Day is observed on August 14th every year to honor the memory of millions who lost their lives or were displaced due to the traumatic division of the Indian subcontinent in 1947. The day encourages reflection on the shared pain, unity, and resilience of the Indian people. Through this quiz initiative, IGNCA and MyGov aim to promote historical awareness among the younger generation and instill a sense of empathy, national unity, and respect for peace.

The quiz is open to all Indian citizens, with a special focus on encouraging school students across the country to take part. There is no entry fee, making it accessible to everyone, regardless of economic background.

Participants will face multiple-choice questions (MCQs), each with four options and only one correct answer. The quiz format is designed to be informative, engaging, and a valuable learning experience. It offers an opportunity to understand the socio-political impact of the Partition, the stories of those affected, and the importance of peace and reconciliation in a diverse nation like India.

As part of the gratification, every participant will receive an e-certificate, recognizing their effort and engagement with this important historical event. Furthermore, the top 10 highest-scoring students will each be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 5,000, adding an element of reward and motivation to the learning experience.
