Karnataka Class 8, 9 & 10 Science Bridge Course, Lesson Plan & Program of Work 2025 resources released

In a key academic initiative, the Science Bridge Course, Lesson Plan, and Program of Work 2025 for Classes 8, 9, and 10 prepared by the subject experts has been released. These comprehensive academic resources, available in both English Medium and Kannada Medium, have been meticulously prepared by expert Science educators and subject specialists from across the state.

The introduced Bridge Course is specifically designed to help students overcome learning gaps by revisiting critical concepts from the previous academic year. Focused on core areas of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, the Bridge Course ensures a smooth transition into new topics and improves conceptual readiness among students. It is especially beneficial for students who may have faced disruptions in their learning journey due to academic, personal, or pandemic-related challenges.

Complementing the Bridge Course is the Lesson Plan 2025, which offers a detailed, week-by-week guide for Science teachers to deliver content effectively. These plans include objectives, suggested teaching methods, learning activities, experiments, and evaluation strategies. Aligned with the NCERT competencies and Karnataka state syllabus, these plans ensure structured and consistent delivery of scientific concepts in classrooms across the state.

The Program of Work provides a month-wise academic calendar for each grade, helping teachers and schools pace the syllabus evenly throughout the year. It ensures that essential topics are covered within the stipulated time, with space for revisions, assessments, and lab activities.

These resources are made available to ensure full accessibility across rural and urban Karnataka.

Teachers have welcomed the release, citing that these resources make lesson delivery more engaging and systematic. The incorporation of activity-based learning and real-life application of science enhances student interest and understanding. The emphasis on experiments, observations, and inquiry-based learning aligns with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 to nurture scientific temper among students.

With the rollout of the Science Bridge Course, Lesson Plan, and Program of Work 2025, Karnataka reaffirms its commitment to improving science education quality and ensuring that students are well-prepared for academic success and competitive exams in the years ahead.
