Reliance Jio has officially introduced its much-anticipated cloud-based AI personal computer, JioPC, bringing affordable, smart computing to Indian households. As reported by TelecomTalk in May 2025, this service is now available through JioHome, which runs on JioFiber and JioAirFiber connections. With this launch, Jio aims to redefine the concept of computing by turning a regular television into a virtual desktop, especially benefiting households without access to traditional personal computers.
JioHome is already known for delivering unlimited Wi-Fi and entertainment, offering 800+ TV channels, OTT apps, gaming, and more. The latest addition, JioPC, turns any TV connected to a Jio set-top box (STB) into a full-fledged AI-ready personal computer. HOW DOES JIOPC WORK?
Using JioPC is simple. Customers need:
- A JioFiber or JioAirFiber connection
- A Jio set-top box
- A keyboard and mouse (USB or Bluetooth compatible)
- A TV or monitor
- An active JioPC subscription
Once set up, users can navigate to the JioPC app from the STB’s apps menu to launch their virtual desktop environment. JioPC runs on Ubuntu (Linux) and is powered by a virtual machine configuration of 4 vCPUs clocked at 2.45 GHz, 8GB RAM, and 100GB of cloud storage, ensuring a seamless user experience.
