The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the schedule for JEE Mains 2026 Session 1 and Session 2 on Sunday, October 19, 2025. Candidates preparing for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains 2026 can now check the complete schedule on the official website, The NTA has also announced key updates to ensure greater accessibility and inclusivity for all candidates, including those under the PwD/PwBD categories.
JEE MAINS 2026 SESSION 1 AND 2 SCHEDULE
As per the official notice, here are the important dates for both sessions:
🔹 JEE Mains 2026 Session 1
- Online Submission of Application Form: October 2025 onwards
- Examination Dates: Between January 21 – 30, 2026
🔹 JEE Mains 2026 Session 2
- Online Submission of Application Form: Last week of January 2026 onwards
- Examination Dates: Between April 1 – 10, 2026
The JEE Main 2026 exam will be conducted in two shifts for both sessions — Shift 1: 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon and Shift 2: 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Increased Number of Exam Cities
To provide a wider approach and ease of access for engineering aspirants across the country, the NTA is planning to increase the number of examination cities. This move is expected to benefit thousands of students from remote and rural areas, ensuring better logistical support and inclusivity in the examination process.
Additionally, the agency emphasized that special arrangements will be made for PwD and PwBD candidates to meet their specific requirements during the exam.
Aadhaar and Educational Certificate Name Correction Facility
In a student-friendly move, the NTA announced that in case of any name mismatch between the Aadhaar Card and Class 10 educational certificate/marksheet, candidates will be given an option to correct it during the online application process.
Candidates are also advised to refer to the Public Notice dated November 6, 2024, available on the official JEE website for additional instructions.
About JEE (Main) Examination
The Joint Entrance Examination (Main) comprises two papers:
- Paper 1: For admission to B.E./B.Tech programs at NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, and other recognized institutions. It also serves as an eligibility test for JEE (Advanced) for admission into IITs.
- Paper 2: For admission to B.Arch and B.Planning courses across India.
