The Government of Haryana has introduced the Deendayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana in 2025, a landmark welfare initiative aimed at empowering women and uplifting marginalized communities. The scheme was officially launched on the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya at a grand event held in Tau Devi Lal Stadium, Panchkula.
Scheme Objectives
The Deendayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana seeks to strengthen the economic and social status of women across Haryana. It targets women aged 23 to 60 years whose family income is below ₹1 lakh annually. Importantly, both married and unmarried women are eligible, and multiple women from the same household can apply for benefits.
This initiative reflects the state government’s commitment to inclusive growth and social welfare, aligning with promises made in the government’s Sankalp Patra. By providing direct financial assistance, the scheme empowers women to pursue financial independence and social inclusion.
Financial and Beneficiary Details
Under the scheme, each eligible woman will receive a monthly allowance of ₹2,100 through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. This ensures transparency, efficiency, and timely disbursal of funds.
In its first phase, the Deendayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana aims to benefit 20 lakh women in Haryana, backed by a substantial ₹5,000 crore allocation in the 2025–26 financial year. This budgetary commitment highlights the government’s resolve to ensure smooth implementation and sustained support for beneficiaries.
Technology and Accessibility
To make the scheme more accessible and transparent, the government launched a dedicated mobile app. The app allows women to:
- Apply online from the comfort of their homes
- Verify eligibility digitally
- Register and track grievances
- Access a toll-free helpline for assistance
The initiative received an enthusiastic response, with nearly 50,000 downloads and over 8,000 applications within days of its launch. The use of digital technology ensures that the scheme reaches women in both urban and rural areas, minimizing bureaucratic delays.
Government Initiatives and Development Projects
Alongside the scheme launch, the Chief Minister of Haryana inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for several development projects worth ₹326.25 crore. These included:
- 31 health initiatives costing ₹78.04 crore
- Renovation of 10 health institutions worth ₹80.72 crore
- New healthcare projects worth ₹78.12 crore
- Public Works and Urban Local Bodies projects valued at ₹89.37 crore
These projects complement the Deendayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana, highlighting the government’s integrated approach to social welfare, healthcare, and infrastructure development.
Significance and Future Prospects
The Deendayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana 2025 marks a significant step in Haryana’s journey towards women’s empowerment and poverty reduction. By combining financial aid with digital governance, the scheme ensures transparency, accessibility, and inclusivity.
The government also encourages young women to apply once they turn 23, expanding the programme’s long-term impact. By supporting women financially, the scheme is expected to improve livelihoods, boost household income, and enhance community welfare across Haryana.
