Karmayogi Swasthya Suraksha Yojana 2025 launched: Complete details Here

The Government of Gujarat has taken a significant step towards strengthening healthcare access and financial security for its public servants through the launch of the Gujarat Karmayogi Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (GKSSY). This comprehensive health scheme aims to provide cashless medical treatment to a wide spectrum of beneficiaries, including All India Services (AIS) officers, state government employees, pensioners, and fixed-pay employees.

10 LAKH CASHLESS HEALTHCARE COVERAGE PER FAMILY

At the core of the GKSSY is the promise of cashless healthcare coverage of up to ₹10 lakh per annum per family. This generous health coverage ensures that public service personnel and their families are protected from the economic strain that medical emergencies often bring. The cashless treatment will be facilitated through a special “G” category card, issued under the umbrella of the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY), the flagship health insurance scheme of the Government of India.

The State Health Agency (SHA) of Gujarat will be responsible for implementing the scheme and managing the issuance of these “G” category cards to all eligible beneficiaries.

WHO CAN BENEFIT?

The scheme has a wide coverage and is designed to benefit:

  • All India Services (AIS) officers and pensioners
  • Gujarat state government officers and employees
  • Pensioners of the Gujarat state government
  • Fixed-pay employees, subject to eligibility norms

All eligible individuals must be enrolled under PMJAY and must possess the special “G” category card to avail the scheme benefits.

AADHAAR-LINKED E-KYC: ENSURING ACCURACY AND TRANSPARENCY

One of the most important features of the scheme is the Aadhaar-based e-KYC verification for all family members of the beneficiaries. This ensures:

  • Accurate identification of beneficiaries
  • Seamless linking with the PMJAY database
  • Hassle-free access to healthcare services without administrative delays
  • Prevention of duplication and misuse of healthcare benefits

By leveraging Aadhaar technology, the government ensures transparency, accountability, and efficient delivery of healthcare services.

INCLUSION OF FIXED-PAY EMPLOYEES

In a progressive move, the Gujarat government has also extended the GKSSY benefits to fixed-pay employees, who are increasingly becoming a vital part of the state workforce. Although they work under different pay structures, these employees will now enjoy the same healthcare benefits under specific eligibility guidelines laid out by the Health Department.

This inclusive approach reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring universal and equitable healthcare access for all categories of public employees, regardless of their employment status.

A HOLISTIC APPROACH TO PUBLIC HEALTH SECURITY

The Gujarat Karmayogi Swasthya Suraksha Yojana stands as a model for other states by not only offering financial protection but also prioritizing dignified and timely medical care for the very people who serve the state. By integrating technology, policy clarity, and administrative efficiency, the scheme reinforces the vision of “Swastha Karmayogi, Swastha Gujarat” — a healthy workforce for a healthier state.
