Google PhD Fellowship India Program 2025 Registrations Open

The Google PhD Fellowship India Program 2025 is an esteemed opportunity for exceptional Ph.D. candidates who aim to shape the future of technology through innovative research. Offered by Google, the program is designed to recognize and support outstanding graduate students in computer science and related fields, empowering them to push the boundaries of technological advancement.

This initiative is open to candidates from all backgrounds who are enrolled full-time in a Ph.D. program, and have completed their undergraduate or master’s degree from an Indian university. Professionals working with a registered organisation in India are also eligible to apply, broadening the scope of participation for early and late-stage researchers.

FELLOWSHIP BENEFITS

The program offers two categories of fellowships:

Early-stage Ph.D. students will receive: A 4-year fellowship, Funding of USD 50,000 (approximately ₹43,40,296), Coverage for stipends, research-related activities, and travel expenses, including international travel, Mentorship from a Google research expert

Late-stage Ph.D. students will be awarded: A 1-year fellowship, A financial award of USD 10,000 (approximately ₹8,68,121), Coverage for stipend, research expenses, and travel, Google research mentor support

Beyond funding, the mentorship component is a key strength of the fellowship, offering scholars guidance from top minds at Google to help refine their research impact and contribute meaningfully to global tech challenges.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

• Applicant’s resume with links to publications (if any)
• Transcripts from the first year of bachelor’s degree onwards
• Research statement of purpose (max 3 pages)
• Three letters of recommendation, including one from the thesis advisor
• Student essay (350 words) on the impact of the fellowship on their education and goals
