The Department of State Educational Research and Training (DSERT), Karnataka, has taken a significant step towards supporting aspiring teachers by releasing comprehensive exam preparation modules for the Karnataka Teachers Eligibility Test (KARTET) 2025. These meticulously designed modules cover the core subjects crucial for success in the examination—Kannada, English, Mathematics, Child Development and Pedagogy (CDP), and Environmental Science (EVS).
The modules are part of DSERT’s continuous efforts to enhance the preparedness of teacher aspirants across Karnataka, ensuring equitable access to quality learning resources. The initiative aims to streamline preparation strategies by providing focused content aligned with the KARTET syllabus and exam pattern.
These subject-wise modules are curated by a team of expert educators and trainers with rich experience in curriculum development and teacher training. The Kannada and English modules emphasize language comprehension, grammar, pedagogy of language development, and vocabulary building, while the Mathematics module deals with number systems, geometry, measurements, data handling, and pedagogical methods for teaching math concepts.
The Child Development and Pedagogy (CDP) module offers insights into educational psychology, stages of child development, learning theories, inclusive education, and classroom management—areas that form the foundation of effective teaching practices. Meanwhile, the EVS module covers concepts related to science and social science at the elementary level, environmental awareness, and subject-specific pedagogy.
All the modules are available in an easy-to-understand format, accompanied by model questions, practice exercises, and sample explanations. These resources are especially useful for candidates appearing for Paper I (for teaching Classes I-V) and Paper II (for teaching Classes VI-VIII) of the KARTET exam.
DSERT has made these materials accessible to all aspirants, ensuring wide reach even in rural and remote areas. With KARTET being a qualifying exam for recruitment of primary and upper primary school teachers in Karnataka, this initiative is expected to significantly boost the confidence and competence of candidates.
