The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has officially released the information bulletin for the DNB Final Examination June 2025 for Broad Specialties. This examination is designed for DNB trainees and eligible candidates holding MD/MS qualifications who wish to obtain the Diplomate of National Board (DNB) certification. IMPORTANT DATES AND DEADLINES
The online submission of application forms for both theory and practical exams will commence from 15th May 2025 and close on 3rd June 2025 Admit cards will be released on 20th June 2025, and the theory exams are scheduled from 25th to 28th June 2025 across four consecutive days. EXAM FORMAT AND ELIGIBILITY
The DNB Final is a two-stage qualifying exam consisting of four theory papers and one practical exam. Each theory paper carries 100 marks and includes short-answer notes. Candidates must score at least 200 out of 400 in aggregate to pass the theory. Successful theory candidates are then eligible to appear for the practical, which carries 300 marks. A minimum of 150 marks is required to qualify in the practicals.
DNB trainees who have completed the mandated training period by 31st January 2026 and meet the attendance criteria for Formative Assessment Tests (FATs). MD/MS candidates must have completed their postgraduate degree by 31st March 2025 and possess an MCI/NMC-recognized qualification. Documentation of training completion and eligibility certificates are compulsory for all candidates.
APPLICATION PROCESS
Applications must be submitted exclusively through the NBEMS Portal, There is no provision for correction windows post-submission, and only one application per candidate is permitted. Incomplete or incorrect applications, or multiple submissions, may lead to disqualification and forfeiture of the examination fee.
The exam fee is ₹5,250 for DNB trainees and ₹6,250 for MD/MS candidates, which includes a non-refundable registration fee. Payments must be made via UPI, credit/debit cards, or other authorized online modes.
Candidates must separately pay the convocation enrollment fee through the NBEMS portal to receive their final DNB degree. This fee must be paid while submitting the exam form, and proof of payment should be attached. However, mere payment does not guarantee degree issuance — successful completion of both theory and practical exams is mandatory.
RESULTS AND CERTIFICATION
Candidates who qualify both stages will be issued a Provisional Certificate (PC), which remains valid until the convocation ceremony. These PCs are essential for professional registration and employment until the final degree is awarded.
Additionally, mark sheets, transcripts, and photocopies of answer scripts can be requested for a nominal fee. In In case of loss, duplicate certificates can be obtained through a formal process involving affidavit submission and payment of prescribed charges.
NBEMS retains the right to amend exam schedules, centers, and policies. Candidates are urged to stay updated via the official website and adhere strictly to guidelines.
