CBSE Invites Self-Nominations for National Awards to Teachers 2025

Self Nominations invited for the National Awards to Teachers 2025 for CBSE Independent Schools

The Ministry of Education, Government of India, annually honors exceptional educators through the prestigious National Awards to Teachers, celebrating their extraordinary contributions to the teaching profession. As part of this initiative, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has been tasked with recommending six outstanding educators from private independent schools affiliated with the Board for the 2025 awards.

CBSE has opened the portal for self-nominations from interested and eligible teachers and principals. The selection is limited to private independent schools affiliated with CBSE, and only online applications will be accepted. The last date to submit applications is 6th July 2025.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Teachers must have a minimum of 10 years of regular service in schools affiliated with any recognized Board as of 31st March 2025.
  • Principals should have 10 years of service as a teacher and an additional 5 years as a Principal in CBSE-affiliated schools by the same date.

  • Those who retired on or after 31st March 2025 are also eligible.
  • Applicants can apply under only one category, and Principals are not eligible to apply as teachers.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must upload:

  • A self-declaration stating the accuracy of submitted information and authenticity of documents.
  • Recommendation letters verifying continuous service and vigilance clearance, signed by the Manager of School.
  • Educational documents including mark sheets and certificates of Class 10/11/12 (DOB proof), graduation, post-graduation, and professional teaching qualifications.

All documents must be submitted in PDF format (maximum size 1MB each), verified and signed either by the Head of School (for teachers) or the Manager of School (for Principals).

SELECTION PROCESS

CBSE will evaluate applications based on various criteria including experience, age, academic qualifications, and performance. A merit list will be generated, from which 24 candidates will be shortlisted. In case of a tie, CBSE may apply additional filters. These shortlisted candidates will then have two days to upload verified documents.

A National Level Scrutiny Committee will conduct an interactive session with the shortlisted applicants to finalize six nominations for the National Awards to Teachers 2025.

This initiative is a tribute to the dedication and excellence demonstrated by educators in shaping the future of India.
