The AYUSH Scholarship Scheme 2025–26, administered by the Government of India through the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), offers an exceptional opportunity for international students to pursue undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D. programs in India’s traditional systems of medicine. These include Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy (AYUSH). The scheme aims to promote global awareness and academic excellence in AYUSH disciplines by welcoming foreign nationals to study in India’s top institutions.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To apply, candidates must:
- Be at least 18 years of age at the time of admission.
- Have completed 12 years of schooling with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology for bachelor’s programs in Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery, Siddha Medicine and Surgery, Unani Medicine and Surgery, or Homoeopathy.
- Have completed 12 years of schooling for a B.Sc. in Yoga or B.A. in Yoga Shastra.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree recognized by the Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) for master’s programs in Ayurveda, Siddha, or Unani.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree recognized by the Central Council of Homoeopathy (CCH) for master’s programs in Homoeopathy.
- Hold a master’s degree recognized by CCIM for Ph.D. programs in Ayurveda or Unani.
FINANCIAL BENEFITS
Selected scholars will receive comprehensive financial support, including:
Living Allowance

- ₹18,000/month for undergraduate students
- ₹35,000/month for first-year master’s students
- ₹38,000/month for second and third-year master’s students
- ₹43,500/month for Ph.D. students
Rent Allowance

- Up to ₹6,500/month in metro cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore
- Up to ₹5,000/month in other cities
Annual Contingent Grant

- ₹4,500 for undergraduate and diploma (yoga) students
- ₹12,000 for Ph.D./MD/MS students
Thesis/Dissertation Expenses

- ₹10,000 for Ph.D. students
- ₹7,000 for MD/MS students
- Airfare: Two-way economy class airfare by the shortest route
- Health Insurance: Provided to cover medical expenses in India
