Amazon has unveiled the third-generation Echo Show 5 smart display in India, combining compact design with significant improvements in audio performance and smart capabilities. Priced at ₹10,999, the device is available in two color options—Charcoal and Cloud Blue—and can be purchased online through Amazon.in and Flipkart, as well as offline through retailers like Reliance Digital and Croma.
The new Echo Show 5 sports a 5.5-inch display enclosed in a refreshed body featuring rounded edges and infinity cover glass. Designed for multifunctionality, the smart display allows users to check weather updates, view calendars, control smart home devices, and access security camera feeds. Its updated aesthetics are matched by practical enhancements aimed at making the device a useful addition to connected households.
One of the standout features of the third-gen Echo Show 5 is its improved audio system. Amazon claims the device delivers double the bass and clearer vocals through a new 1.7-inch rear-facing speaker—offering a more immersive listening experience. Users can stream audio via platforms like Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify, and JioSaavn, or enjoy audiobooks through Audible.
The built-in camera enables remote home monitoring via the ‘Drop In’ feature, and supports video calls to other Echo devices with screens or to contacts using the Alexa app. Additionally, intercom-style communication within a household is supported, adding convenience for families using multiple Echo devices.
Powered by Amazon’s in-house AZ2 Neural Edge processor, the Echo Show 5 also includes an upgraded microphone system to better recognize voice commands. Alexa integration allows for hands-free management of everyday tasks such as setting timers, creating shopping lists, and controlling appliances like lights, fans, air conditioners, and TVs.
