With an aim at providing a digital health ID to all the citizens of country, Central Government of India launched the Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA), which was earlier known as Ayushman Bharat Health ID in 2021,
It launched by the National Health Authority (NHA), which is part of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. According to the Central Government the ABHA is the “first step towards creating safer and efficient digital health records for you and your family.”
ABHA is a unique health ID that uses a 14 digit identification number and that can be generated by using an Aadhaar card or mobile number.
Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) allows the users to share their health records digitally with hospitals, clinics, insurance providers and others. Citizens can create their unique ABHA card without any cost,
The ABHA card helps to access all your medical records such as lab reports, prescriptions and diagnoses on the single platform and present the medical records even if you are in a different place of your stay,
Thus, the person can get the medical care even in new localities and also get access the Healthcare Professional Registry (HPR) which is a compilation of the details of all the doctors in India, It helps to avoid long queues for registration in healthcare facilities across the country
It provide an option to choose to create your ABHA number voluntarily. Also the user at any time can also request for permanent deletion or temporary deactivation of the ABHA number, Seamless sign up for PHR (Personal Health Records) applications such as ABDM ABHA application for Health data sharing
STEPS TO CREATE ABHA NUMBER
Step 1 : Visit ABHA Portal (CLICK HERE)
Step 2 : Click on Create ABHA number using Aadhar Card / Driving Licence
Step 3 : Click on Next
Step 4 : Enter Aadhar Number (Tick I Agree)
Step 5 : Click on Next
Step 6 : Enter OTP received on your registered Mobile Number
Step 7 : Enter Mobile Number and Click on Submit
Step 8 : Verify your details, Click on Submit (Note down your ABHA Number)
Step 9 : You have option to create your address,
Step 10 : Click on Download ABHA card
ABHA Card establish unique identity across different healthcare providers within the healthcare ecosystem,
The user can use their ABHA number to seamlessly sign up for a ABHA address, and ensure that the health records created for are shared only with the user.
