TS Inter Exams 2026: TGBIE Increases Fee & Removes 5-Year Limit for Failed Students

The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) has officially revised the examination fees for the Intermediate Public Examinations (IPE) 2026 while also extending the last date for fee payment. As per the updated notification, students appearing for the TS Inter Board Exams 2026 can pay their exam fee until November 14, 2025, without a late fee. This update is crucial for candidates preparing for TS Inter 1st and 2nd year exams 2026 under both general and vocational streams.

Revised Telangana Intermediate Exam Fee 2026

The board has announced a nominal increase in the fee for TS Inter 1st year candidates. Students from Arts and Science streams will now have to pay ₹530 instead of ₹520. In addition, an extra ₹100 has been introduced for English practical examinations, making the overall fee slightly higher than the previous academic cycle.

For TS Inter 2nd year exams 2026, the fee has also been revised. Candidates appearing for the general stream will now pay ₹630. Meanwhile, science and vocational stream students must remit ₹870, which includes:

  • ₹530 for theory exams
  • ₹240 for science practicals
  • ₹100 for English practicals

The decision aims to streamline examination-related expenses and improve service facilities offered during the board exams.

Provisions for Improvement Exams

TGBIE has introduced supportive policies for students aiming to enhance their academic performance. Candidates who completed their two-year Intermediate course in 2024 or later are eligible to improve their marks within two years. They can take only two chances during this improvement window.

Students who passed IPE March 2025 can appear for improvement in IPE March 2026 as their final attempt, provided they haven’t utilized their two chances earlier. It is mandatory to reappear for all subjects including practicals. Candidates can retain the better score between past and present performances, but best-of individual paper marks policy is not applicable.

Rules on Malpractice Cases

The board notified that 2nd year general science students and vocational candidates booked under malpractice charges must reappear for both theory and practical exams once eligible. This ensures transparency and fairness in the Telangana IPE examination system.

5-Year Rule Removed for Failed Candidates

In a major relief for students, TGBIE has abolished the five-year completion rule. Earlier, those who failed to clear all papers within five years of enrollment were barred from further attempts. Now, such candidates can reappear for failed subjects regardless of the time elapsed, giving them a fresh opportunity to complete their education, for more details CLICK HERE
