The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has once again extended the registration deadline for the December 2025 Term-End Examination (TEE) for both Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and online programmes. As per the official notification, students can now submit their IGNOU December 2025 TEE exam forms without paying any late fee till October 26, 2025, through the official website.
Earlier, the deadline for filling the examination form without a late fee was October 20, 2025. The university’s decision to extend the registration window comes as a relief to thousands of students who were unable to complete their applications on time due to various reasons.
Extended Deadline and Late Fee Details
According to IGNOU’s official notice, candidates who miss the October 26 deadline can still apply for the IGNOU December 2025 TEE by paying a late fee of ₹1,100 between October 27 and October 31, 2025.
The official notification stated, “With the approval of the Competent Authority, the University has extended the last date for filling up the Online Examination Form for December 2025 Term-End-Examination for both ODL and Online Programmes.”
This extension ensures that learners enrolled in different programmes get adequate time to complete the exam form submission process and avoid last-minute rush or technical issues.
IGNOU December 2025 TEE Exam Schedule
The IGNOU December 2025 Term-End Examination (TEE) is scheduled to be held from December 1, 2025, to January 8, 2026. The exams will be conducted in two shifts daily:

Exam Format and Evaluation Criteria
IGNOU conducts the Term-End Examinations as a crucial part of the course evaluation process for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. The TEE results play a key role in determining the student’s overall performance and eligibility for course completion.
To qualify in the IGNOU December 2025 TEE, students must secure:
- A minimum of 35% marks in both theory and assignments for undergraduate (UG) courses, and
- A minimum of 40% marks in both theory and assignments for postgraduate (PG) courses.
The final result is calculated based on a weighted average of both components, with assignments contributing approximately 30% of the total marks and TEE accounting for the remaining 70%.
