The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) conducts the Common Admission Test (C-CAT), a prestigious national-level entrance exam for admission into its Post Graduate (PG) Diploma Programs in cutting-edge computing technologies. C-CAT serves as a mandatory qualifying examination for all aspirants aiming to pursue 24-week intensive training in fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Big Data, VLSI Design, Mobile Computing, FinTech, and other advanced domains.
C-CAT ensures a fair, merit-based admission process to C-DAC’s highly acclaimed PG Diploma programs. It enables a standardised evaluation of a candidate’s aptitude, technical proficiency, and readiness for advanced IT education. Only candidates who qualify in the C-CAT exam and appear in the rank list are eligible for seat allocation and admission.
One of the core strengths of C-CAT is its transparent and preference-based counselling mechanism. Admission to courses and centres is granted based on the candidate’s C-CAT rank and preferences submitted during online counselling.
KEY HIGHLIGHTS
- Eligibility: No age limit. Final-year students graduating in 2025 are eligible to apply.
- Exam Pattern: C-CAT comprises up to three sections – A, B, and C. Each section is one hour long and includes 50 multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
- Frequency: C-CAT is typically conducted twice a year:
- January for the March batch
- July for the August batch
