The National Sports University (NSU), Imphal, Manipur, a premier Central University under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, has announced the commencement of its admissions for the academic year 2025–26. Applications are invited for various Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes aimed at nurturing excellence in sports education and research.
UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMMES
NSU offers prestigious undergraduate courses such as B.Sc. in Sports Coaching and Bachelor of Physical Education and Sports (BPES).
Eligibility Criteria:
- Candidates must have passed 10+2 (Higher Secondary) or equivalent examination.
- Minimum Marks Requirement:
- UR/EWS/OBC/Kashmiri Migrants: 45%
- SC/ST: 40%
- Sports Participation (Mandatory): Representation in at least one of the following events is required: Olympic Games, World Championships, Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, Khelo India, SGFI, World University Games, or other national/international competitions recognized by MYAS/IOA/National Federations.
POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES
NSU offers advanced programmes in sports sciences and physical education including:
M.A. in Sports Psychology

- Eligibility: Bachelor’s in Psychology, Physical Education, or equivalent, with Psychology as one subject.
- Minimum Marks: 50%
- Sports participation at State/District/College level is required.
M.Sc. in Sports Coaching / M.P.E.S / M.Sc. in Applied Sports Nutrition

ADMISSION PROCESS
Admission will be based on performance in the NSUEE (National Sports University Entrance Examination) and relevant programme-specific assessments. These include:
- Physical Fitness Test
- Game Proficiency Test
- Evaluation of Sports Achievements
- Viva Voce (Interview)
