Swachhta Pakhwada 2023 to be observed in all schools from 1st to 15th September 2023, The date-wise calendar of suggested activities to be conducted during the Swachhta Pakhwada is shared herewith for wide dissemination up to school level,Â
In accordance with the decision taken in a meeting chaired by the Cabinet Secretary all the States / UTs have been advised to observe Swachhta Pakhwada activities in schools

Pledge of Swachhta Pakhwada program to be taken by the students, teachers on the first day of Swachhta Pakhwada program in all schools
September 1st: Swachhata Shapath Day
Swachhata Shapath function may be organized wherein all students and teachers/staff may participate, Swachhata awareness message to be posted, Electronic banners may be created and uploaded to highlight the observance of the Swachhata Pakhwada and create awareness for Swachhata.
September 2nd:Â Swachhata Awareness Day
Holding a meeting of SMCs, SDMCs. PTA to highlight the importance of cleanliness and sanitation among children, parents, and teachers; and to encourage and inspire them for hygiene and sanitation in school as well as home, Extensive cleaning of toilets, MDM kitchen, classrooms, fans, doors, windows, bushes in the campus and surrounding area to be undertaken
September 3rd & 4th :Â Community Outreach
The teachers to visit nearby villages to address the local communities on Swachhata with a special focus on sustaining toilet usage and taking up waste management work in their areas, Upload the number of teachers participating in the community outreach activities on Google Tracker and other publicity materials in drive
September 5th: Green School Drive
Every school may arrange for dustbins. Dustbin with Blue and Green-color must be used for Recycled and Unrecyclable waste respectively in view of making children aware of the classification of wastes, Planting of trees in and around school premises and encourage children for gardening. Reuse of waste material to be taken up
September 6th and 7th: Swachhata Participation Day
Essay, Quiz, Drawing, Skit, Debate, Poem creation, Slogan writing competition for students on cleanliness and hygiene practices to be conducted,Â
September 8th & 9th : Hand Wash Day
Create Awareness on the need for proper hand wash in daily life, Children be taught the proper method of hand washing after eating, create awareness regarding wastage of water and control
September 10th and 11th: Personal Hygiene Day
Audiovisual program to be undertaken to motivate students and others for maintaining cleanliness, teach about direct impact of hygiene practices on overall health, Provide awareness on menstrual hygiene among girls of Classes VI to XII
September 12th: Swachhata School Exhibition Day
Photographs, paintings, cartoons, slogans and others on Swachhata activities may be displayed in schools. Parents and community members may be invited to attend the exhibition
September 13th to 14th: Swachhata Action Day
Create awareness among students on all aspects of Swachhata personal, physical, mental, environmental societal, create awareness among SDMC, SMC, PTAÂ
September 15th: Prize Distribution Day
Distribution of prizes for the participation of children, teachers, and parents in competitions conducted in schools like Painting, Essay, Debate, and Quiz to encourage Swachhata. All Schools may sum up their activities and work undertaken during the Swachhta Pakhwada 2023 and select the best activity for forwarding to department officials
