The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released its much-anticipated tentative examination calendar for the year 2025–2026, offering a clear roadmap for aspirants seeking government positions through competitive recruitment. The calendar spans a wide range of examinations, covering posts from junior secretariat assistants to constables, engineers, translators, and stenographers.
The examination cycle begins on 8th June 2025, with the Limited Departmental Competitive Examinations for various grades including JSA/LDC, SSA/UDC, and ASO. These exams are specifically held for employees under the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), reflecting the SSC’s commitment to facilitating internal growth and promotions.
One of the key highlights of the calendar is the Selection Post Examination, Phase-XIII, scheduled from 24th July to 4th August 2025. This is followed closely by the Stenographer Grade ‘C’ & ‘D’ Examination and the Combined Hindi Translators Examination, both scheduled in early to mid-August. The ever-popular Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination Tier-I will be conducted from 13th to 30th August 2025, drawing participation from lakhs of graduates nationwide.
September 2025 will see the Sub-Inspector Examination in Delhi Police and CAPFs, Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) Examination Tier-I, and the Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) & Havaldar Examination, giving a continuous stretch of recruitment activities that month. The Junior Engineer (JE) Examination is slotted for the end of October 2025.
For candidates eyeing roles in the Delhi Police, four separate exams for Constable (Driver), Head Constable (Ministerial and AWO/TPO), and Constable (Executive) will be conducted between November and December 2025. Additionally, the Constables (GD) in CAPFs, NIA, SSF and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles Examination 2026 is tentatively scheduled for January–February 2026.
The calendar concludes with a second round of Limited Departmental Exams in March 2026 for various administrative grades.
The SSC’s structured timeline allows aspirants ample time for preparation and planning. | Aadhaar Based Biometric Authentication in SSC examinations from May 2025 |
As per the notification released the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has decided to implement Aadhar Based Biometric Authentication in its forthcoming examinations.
Accordingly, candidates will be able to authenticate themselves using Aadhaar at the time of online registration, while filling up online application form for the examinations and while appearing at the test centre to take examinations conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) from May 2025 onwards.
