PM Modi Launches ‘Pratibha Setu Portal’ to Connect UPSC Aspirants with Employment Opportunities

In a major step towards empowering India’s talented youth, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched the ‘Pratibha Setu Portal’, a transformative digital initiative designed to connect UPSC candidates who reached the final stages of the Civil Services Examination but did not qualify with suitable employment opportunities in both private and public institutions.

The Pratibha Setu Portal (meaning “Bridge of Talent”) aims to ensure that the knowledge, dedication, and skills of UPSC aspirants — who undergo years of rigorous preparation — are effectively utilized for the nation’s progress. The initiative reflects the government’s vision to create a bridge between talented individuals and organizations seeking skilled human resources in governance, policy, research, and management sectors.

A Bridge Between Talent and Opportunity

Launching the portal, Prime Minister Modi emphasized that the Pratibha Setu initiative would prevent the loss of potential among youth who come close to joining the Indian Administrative Services (IAS), Indian Police Services (IPS), and other Central Services, yet narrowly miss the final selection.

“Every aspirant who reaches the interview stage of UPSC represents immense dedication, knowledge, and commitment. The Pratibha Setu Portal will ensure that their talent finds purpose and contribution to national development,” the Prime Minister said.

The portal will allow private companies, government-linked organizations, think tanks, universities, and NGOs to directly access a pool of highly capable individuals who have cleared UPSC Prelims, Mains, or Interviews, but could not make it to the final merit list.

HOW THE PRATIBHA SETU PORTAL WORKS

Developed under the supervision of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) and integrated with the National Career Service (NCS) platform, the Pratibha Setu Portal provides a secure, transparent, and data-driven interface for both job seekers and employers.

Key features include:

  • Verified candidate database of UPSC aspirants who reached the interview stage or final merit list.
  • Job listings from public and private sector organizations, categorized by sector and skill set.
  • AI-based matching algorithms to connect candidates with relevant opportunities based on their academic background and UPSC performance.
  • Mentorship and skill-building modules to support continuous learning and career development.

Through this platform, organizations can identify individuals with proven analytical, administrative, and leadership abilities—qualities that are honed through the UPSC preparation process.

Empowering Youth, Enabling Growth

The Pratibha Setu Portal aligns with the government’s broader vision of “Nation Building through Human Capital” and complements initiatives such as Skill India, Digital India, and Make in India.

By providing a structured avenue for capable youth to enter diverse professional domains, the portal ensures that their efforts, time, and knowledge contribute meaningfully to India’s development.

Officials from DoPT highlighted that the initiative will also enhance recruitment efficiency for employers while offering equal opportunity and visibility to UPSC aspirants who narrowly missed final selection.

A Model for Talent Utilization and Nation Building

The Pratibha Setu Portal is not just a job platform—it’s a national talent repository that recognizes perseverance and commitment. By transforming missed opportunities into meaningful careers, it embodies the spirit of inclusive growth and merit-based empowerment.

With this launch, India takes a forward-looking step toward optimally utilizing youth potential, bridging the gap between civil service preparation and professional excellence, and ensuring that no effort of India’s talented youth goes in vain, for more details CLICK HERE
