The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, has officially opened the registration process for its Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Nursing programmes for the academic year 2025. The admissions are open for two courses: BSc Nursing (Post-Basic) and BSc Nursing (4 Years). Interested candidates can register online through the official website at pgimer.edu.in.
IMPORTANT DATES AND ADMISSION PROCESS
The last date to register for the entrance examination is 30th June 2025. The institute will conduct the entrance exam for both BSc Nursing courses on 27th July 2025. Results will be declared on 9th August 2025.
Following the results, document verification and counselling sessions will be held for shortlisted candidates. For the BSc Nursing (Post-Basic) programme, document verification is scheduled for 11th August 2025, with counselling on 12th August 2025. For the BSc Nursing (4 Years) course, document verification will take place on 13th August 2025, followed by counselling on 14th August 2025.
APPLICATION FEES
Candidates from Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories are required to pay an application fee of Rs 1,200, while candidates from all other categories must pay Rs 1,500, plus transaction charges. Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) are exempt from paying the application fee.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR BSC NURSING (4 YEARS)
This programme is exclusively for female candidates. The eligibility requirements are:
Candidates must have passed Class 12 with a minimum of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) and should have passed English as a separate subject.
Candidates from SC, ST, and Other Backward Classes (OBC) categories must have secured at least 40% marks.
Candidates appearing for Class 12 exams in 2025 can also apply but must submit their final mark sheets at least 10 days before the exam to obtain their admit card, The minimum age requirement is 17 years, and the maximum age limit is 35 years as of September 1, 2025.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR BSC NURSING (POST-BASIC)
This programme is open to co-educational candidates. The eligibility includes:
Completion of Class 12 or an equivalent examination, Completion of General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks.
Candidates must be registered nurses and midwives with a recognized institute and registered with their respective State Nursing Councils approved by the Indian Nursing Council, The maximum age limit is 45 years as of September 1, 2025. Candidates born before September 1, 1980, are ineligible.
