The Karnataka State Government had filed an appeal challenging the Karnataka High Court order given by the single bench quashing the order issued by the Karnataka School Quality Assessment and Accreditation Council (KSQAAC) to conduct assessment exams for the students of Class 5 and Class 8 for the academic year 2022 – 23
Karnataka State High Court conducted an urgent hearing in this regard today (11th March 2023). The High Court refused to stay the order of the single member bench and adjourned the hearing to 14th March 2023.
The Karnataka State Government has said that the assessment examination of class 5 and 8, which was scheduled to be held from 13th to 18th March 2023 will be postponed.
The Department of School Education and Literacy, Karnataka had instructed all the schools in the state to conduct the assessment examination for the students of class 5 and 8 from 13th to 18th March 2023 on the syllabus Completed in Schools from November 2022 to March 2023
The Karnataka School Quality Assessment and Accreditation Council (KSQAAC) had already released the Class 5 and Class 8 Model Papers of all subjectsÂ
The petitions was filed by the Organization for Unaided Recognized Schools, Registered Unaided Private Schools Management Association and others challenging the decision of the Karnataka School Quality Assessment and Accreditation Council (KSQAAC) to conduct state level board exams for class 5 and class 8 students, they claimed the decision is being taken at the fag end of the academic year and it will affect the students and parents
