Karnataka Construction Workers Labour Card

Karnataka Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board has invited online applications from the Karnataka Building and Other Construction Workers for the Labour Card, For Workers working in the building and other construction sectors belong to the unorganized category. For the benefit of such workers, the Central Government has enacted the Building and Other Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1996,

Before registration, labour has get the 90 days work certificate filled and attested, The 4 issuers of 90 days work certificate are Labour Inspector / Employer / Registered Labour Union / Gram panchayat

HOW TO APPLY

To register, the labourer has to visit the Labour Inspector (L.I) of their respective circles. The Labour Inspector (L.I) will be responsible for filling the registration form on behalf of the labourer as per the information provided by the labourer.

The Labour Inspector (L.I) has to click on Register as Construction Worker in the login page to start the labour registration process, all the mandatory documents required for registration are shown on the left side of the page. User has to provide his/her mobile number and click on Generate OTP, OTP will be sent to the provided mobile number, user has to enter the received OTP and click on Submit

On successful validation, user will be directed to the application Home page, In the home page, user can view tabs like Registration, Renewal, Schemes and Schemes Status, User can also view his/her Application Status in the home page, Until the Registration of the user is Approved, user cannot access any tabs except registration, To continue with the registration, user has to click on Registration tab

In the first module the personal details to be filled, In second module the User has to fill the his/her residential address, Permanent address will be auto populated in the application from UIDAI, In third module the User has to fill the entire details of his/her family members, If ration card is available, user can enter the ration card number and upload the same, In fourth module the User has to provide bank details, user to enter the bank details of the nominee, In fifth module the user has to provide the work details, After filling all the mandatory fields in 90 days work details and submitting, user will be directed to final review page, On successful submission, an acknowledgement will be provided to the labour

After registration is approved by concerned labour inspector, e-card will be generated for the labourer, Labourer can login into the application using mobile number and OTP

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

The documents required to apply are Employment Certificate (Form V(A)/V(B)/V(C)/V(D)) / Mobile Number /  Aadhar Card (Self-Attested) / Ration Card(non-mandatory) / Age Proof (one of them Example: Voter ID Card, Aadhar Card)

BENEFITS

The Construction worker with labour card get eligible for Pension scheme, who has completed sixty years of age to get pension not exceeding Rs 3000 per month, Every registered construction worker who meets with an accident during the course of employment shall be compensated by the employer under the provisions of the Employee’s Compensation Act, 1923. along with a compenstion of Rs. 2 lakh from the Board

Board may sanction financial assistance to a registered construction worker and their dependents hospitalised in a Government hospital or a private hospital, The assistance shall be towards hospitalisation for minimum 48 Hours continuously. The financial assistance shall be Rs 300/- per day of the hospitalisation to the maximum of Rs 20,000

Under the Thayi Magu Sahaya Hastha scheme a registered woman construction worker who has delivered a child is eligible to avail this assistance for a period of 3 years from the date of delivery as pre-school education & Nutritional Support of the child,  An amount of rupee 6000 (at the rate of 500 hundred per month) shall be sanctioned to the registered woman construction worker, This facility shall be availed by the registered woman construction worker twice

Under the Maternity benefit the registered woman construction worker sanction Rs.50,000, The registered woman construction worker can get this assistance only twice, Under the Marriage Assistance the registered construction worker, sanction a sum of Rs.60,000 as assistance to meet the marriage expenses of the worker or his/her two dependent children, Assistance of medical expenses for treatment of major ailments of a registered construction worker is provided, Educational assistance shall be available for the current enrolment and only for the students enrolled in regular courses in recognized institutions

The Board or authorized officer may Sanction an amount of Rs. 2000 per month as disability pension to a beneficiary, who is partially disabled due to any disease or accident at worksite and for an ex¬gratia payment of not more than Rs. 2,00,000

If registered construction worker dies, the Secretary, or any other officer authorized in this behalf by the Board, shall pay a sum of Rs. 4,0000 to the nominee of the deceased registered construction worker to meet the funeral expenses of the deceased registered construction worker, A registered construction worker who is a permanent resident of Bengaluru City (Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike Limits) or the place from where he travels to Bengaluru is eligible to avail the benefit of BMTC Bus pass.
