The University of Sheffield has launched the International Postgraduate Taught Merit Scholarship 2025, a prestigious initiative designed to support high-achieving international students seeking to pursue postgraduate taught programs. This merit-based scholarship aims to reduce financial barriers and attract outstanding students from across the world to contribute to global academic and research excellence.
SCHOLARSHIP VALUE AND INTAKE
Under this scheme, the University of Sheffield will award 75 scholarships, each valued at £10,000. This amount will be deducted directly from the original tuition fee of the chosen postgraduate taught course beginning in September 2025. The scholarship is a significant step in easing the financial strain on deserving students who are self-funding their education abroad.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To apply for the International Postgraduate Taught Merit Scholarship 2025, applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Must be a graduate holding a valid undergraduate degree.
- Must have received an offer letter for a full-time postgraduate taught course at the University of Sheffield.
- Should be a non-EU international student.
- Must be a self-funded student, not receiving financial support from any external sponsor or government.
- Must enroll in an eligible on-campus postgraduate programme.
WHO IS NOT ELIGIBLE?
- Distance learning students are not eligible for this scholarship.
- Students applying for Crossways or Erasmus Mundus courses cannot apply.
- Students receiving external scholarship sponsorships are ineligible.
