Joint Admission Test for MSc (JAM) is National level online entrance exam conducted by IIT every year on a rotational basis on behalf of MHRD, Government of India.
Previous year, IIT JAM exam was held for 6 Science subjects, which are Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Economics (EN), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA), Mathematical Statistics (MS) and Physics (PH). But, JAM 2021 will be conducted for seven subjects.Economics is newly added subject for JAM 2021.
IIT JAM is conducted to provide admission to candidates in MSc and other PG courses offered at IITs and integrated PhD courses offered by IISc, Bangalore. Several NITs and Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs) will also accept JAM scores for MSc admissions.

ELIGIBILITY
- Candidate may be either Indian/Foreign.
- Candidate must obtainBachelor’s degree in science.
- In the qualifying degree, the aggregate marks or CGPA/CPI without rounding-off should be at least 55% or 5.5 out of 10 for General/OBC (NCL) category candidates and 50% or 5.0 out of 10 for SC/ST and PWD category candidates.
- Students either appearing or appeared for final examination qualifying degree can also apply for IITJAM.
IIT JAM EXAM PATTERN
- Type of Questions: 30 MCQ, 10 Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), 20 Numerical Answer Type (NAT)
- Total Marks: 100 Marks [50 (MCQ) + 20 (MSQ) + 30 (NAT)]
- Negative Marking: Applicable only for MCQ.

IIT JAM APPLICATION FORM 2021
IISc Bangalore released the IIT JAM application form 2021 on September 10. Candidates who want to fill their applications can visit the JOAPS website. The mode of application is also online.
HOW TO FILL IIT JAM APPLICATION FORM 2021?
Step 1 : Visit the official website of IIT JAM 2021.
Step 2 :To register, click on New User? And then ‘Register Here’.
Step 3 :Enter your valid e-mail ID, mobile number, name and other details for registration
Step 4 :After successful registration, candidates will receive an enrollment ID and password on their registered email ID.
Step 5 :Visit the JOAPS portal and log in by entering the Enrollment ID/ email-ID and Password.
Step 6 :Enter all the necessary details in the application form.
Step 7 :Select city preferences for exam.
Step 8 :Then, click on the ‘Save’ button.
Step 9 :After filling up JAM application form, candidates are supposed to upload their inquisitive documents.
Step 10 :The scanned documents has to be upload in the prescribed format.
NOTE
- After uploading scanned documents candidates has to pay application fee through Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking.
- The application fee is not refundable.

STEPS TO DOWNLOAD IITJAM ADMIT CARD
Step 1 :Kindly visit the official JAM website.
Step 2 :Then, click on ‘Download JAM Admit Card’
Step 3 :A login page will display on the screen.
Step 4 :Enter your Enrollment ID/Email ID & Password
Step 5 :The JAM admit-card will be displayed on the screen.
Step 6 :Take a printout of admit-card.
IIT JAM 2021 MOCK TEST
IISC Bangalore has released IIT JAM 2021 mock test website. Candidates who have applied for IITJAM can practice mock test to test their knowledge by visiting the official website of IIT JAM 2021 i.e. jam.iisc.ac.in.
No need to login to attend for mock test.
You can attend as many times you can for mock test and there is no restriction for taking IIT JAM mock test.
Then candidateswill get an ideaabout online examination and prepare well for the examination.
HOW TO CHECK IIT JAM 2021 RESULT?
- All India Rank (AIR) will be assigned as per the marks obtained in the exam.
- Based on the candidate’s performance in IIT JAM 2020, for each test paper, a separate merit list will be prepared for GEN/ OBC/ SC/ ST/ PWD candidates.
- Merit list will be declared based on the number of seats available in each subject and AIR of every candidate.
- The scorecard will contain AIR and marks obtained in the particular subject.
