The Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Kalyani has announced the commencement of the admission process for its Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programme for the Autumn Semester of the academic year 2025–26. Applications are invited from eligible Indian nationals to pursue advanced research in the following disciplines: Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Mathematics, and Physics.

Eligibility Criteria
For candidates applying in the Engineering disciplines (CSE/ECE), eligibility includes:
- A Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology in a relevant field with a minimum of 6.5 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) or 60% marks, or
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology in a relevant field with a minimum of 7.5 CGPA or 70% marks, along with a valid GATE or NET qualification.
For applicants in the Science disciplines (Mathematics/Physics):
- A Master’s degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 6.5 CGPA or 60% marks and a valid GATE or NET qualification is required.
Application Process and Important Dates
Interested candidates must submit their applications by 20th June 2025. The application fee is Rs. 500 for General category applicants and Rs. 300 for candidates belonging to SC, ST, or PwD categories.
The selection process will be based on the candidate’s eligibility, performance in a written test, and/or a personal interview. The list of shortlisted candidates is expected to be published on 27th June 2025, and the written test and interviews are tentatively scheduled for 7th and 8th July 2025.
