Gear Up for India: 25th Fit India Sunday on Cycle commemorated as special Tiranga Rally

A historic milestone is set to unfold on Sunday, June 1, 2025, as the 25th edition of the Fit India Sundays on Cycle initiative takes on a special identity as the Tiranga Rally. This landmark edition is not only a celebration of fitness through cycling but also a heartfelt tribute to India’s armed forces. Spearheading the event in the national capital is Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, with the rally being held at the iconic Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium.

The timing is symbolic—just two days ahead of World Bicycle Day (June 3)—serving to amplify the message of sustainable health and environmental consciousness through cycling. In Delhi alone, more than 1,200 cyclists are expected to participate, while across the country, over 2,000 locations will host local events, reflecting the nationwide appeal and participation the initiative now commands.

Adding to the event’s gravitas, the Governor of Odisha, Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati, will flag off the Bhubaneswar edition, reinforcing the Tiranga Rally’s national relevance. A constellation of celebrated personalities will also ride alongside Dr. Mandaviya in Delhi, including Olympic medallist Yogeshwar Dutt, international wrestler Sarita Mor, Bollywood actor Sharvari, and former cricketer Saba Karim. The event will also witness several project launches under the Fit India umbrella.

The Tiranga Rally is more than a commemorative ride—it is a flagship symbol of inclusivity, unity, and patriotism, bringing together youth, elders, families, influencers, and sports enthusiasts alike. Streets across India will transform into vibrant cycling arenas, promoting a culture of health and national pride.

Launched in December 2024, the Sundays on Cycle initiative has rapidly grown into a mass movement. In just six months, it has reached over 5,500 locations, with active participation from more than 3 lakh citizens. Its digital outreach is equally impressive, having achieved over 3.44 billion impressions. Esteemed figures such as Sania Mirza, Milind Soman, Emraan Hashmi, John Abraham, Imtiaz Ali, Shankar Mahadevan, and the legendary Dara Singh have all lent their voices to the cause.
