CTET July 2023 : Applications started

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has started the application process for the national level teacher eligibility test CTET July 2023

The 16th edition of Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) to be conducted in CBT (Computer Based Test – Online) mode between July and August 2023 and the the last date for submitting online application is 26th May 2023

The detailed Information Bulletin containing all the details of examination, syllabus, languages, eligibility criteria, examination fee, examination test centres and the important dates been released

The candidates must note that the examination city of their choice will be allotted on first cum first served basis only as per availability of capacity in the city of examination

About CTET

The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is conducted every year by the Central Board of Secondary Education Delhi,

It has been stated in the CBSE Notice that every effort will be made to accommodate the candidates who have applied for the examination in the cities opted by them but if the situation arises, the candidates can be allotted any city other than the four cities opted by them.

Nature and standard of questions

In Paper 1 and Paper 2 the test items on Child Development and Pedagogy will be based on educational psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the age group of 6-14years with prime focus on the understanding the characteristics and needs of diverse learners, interaction with learners and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning.

The Test items in Language I paper will be based on the proficiencies related to the medium of instruction selected by the candidates.

The Test items in Language II paper will be based on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities. Language II will be a language other than Language I.

A candidate may choose any one language as Language I and other as Language II from the available language options specified in the information bulletin and will be required to specify the selected language while applying for the exam

In CTET Paper 1 the test items in Mathematics and Environmental Studies will focus on the concepts, problem solving abilities and pedagogical understanding and applications of the subjects.

The questions in the CTET Paper I will be based on the topics prescribed in syllabus of the NCERT for classes I – V but the difficulty standard of the questions could be up to the Secondary stage.

The questions in the CTET  Paper II will be based on the topics prescribed in syllabus of the NCERT for classes VI – VIII but their difficulty standard of the questions could be up to the Senior Secondary stage

LANGUAGE OF PAPER

CTET Paper 1 and Paper II question paper will be Bilingual (Hindi / English)

QUALIFYING MARKS 

A person who scores 60% or more in the TET exam will be considered as TET pass

CERTIFICATE VALIDITY

From this year National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has  approved the extension of Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) Validity Certificate instead of 7 years to Lifetime, the decision has been was taken in the 50th meeting of the General Body of NCTE held on 29th September 2020,

As  per the Minutes of the NCTE General Body Meeting being circulated on 13th October, the council has approved extending the validity of TET (Teacher Eligibility Certificate) certificate from 7 years to life time,

However the candidates have been given the option to write the examination any number of times to improve their Scores, For complete details CLICK HERE

Language English (30 Marks)

Language English section in CTET Paper 1 and 2 holds weightage of 30 marks, the Syllabus is Similar / same for both the Papers 1 and 2, Scoring good marks in this subject will determine your overall scores,

English Paper consists of  2 sections, the section I consist of 15 Questions that are based on unseen Passage (Prose, Poetry, Drama) and the section II  contains 15 Questions based on Language Pedagogy, 

MATHEMATICS (30 Marks)

Mathematics is the Subject in CTET Paper 1 and 2 (Only for Science and Mathematics Teachers) for the Students who are aspirants for Mathematics Teachers,

It carries the weightage of 30 marks and its very important that you prepare for this subject and Score Good Marks as many of the candidates find this subject as tricky and difficult to get good marks

SCIENCE (30 Marks)

Science is the Subject in CTET Paper 2 (Only for Science and Mathematics Teachers) for the Students who are aspirants for Science Teachers, It contains weightage of 30 marks and its very important that you prepare for this subject and Score better Marks.

SOCIAL SCIENCE (60 Marks)

Social Science is the Subject in Paper 2 (Only for Social Teachers) for the Students who are aspirants for Social Subject Teachers, It carries weightage of 60 marks and its very important that you prepare completely for this subject and Score Good Marks,
