The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has officially started the registration process for NEET PG Counselling 2025 for admission to MD, MS, and postgraduate diploma courses across medical colleges in India. Eligible candidates can now register for MCC NEET PG 2025 counselling through the official website. The round 1 registration last date has not yet been announced, but candidates are advised to complete the process early to avoid technical delays.
Alongside registration, MCC has released the NEET PG 2025 Information Bulletin, detailing the complete counselling procedure — including registration, document verification, choice filling and locking, seat allotment, result declaration, reporting, and upgradation of seats. This marks the official commencement of the postgraduate medical admission process for the 2025–26 academic session.
Revised Priority System for NRI Quota Seats
This year, the MCC has introduced a revised priority-based system for NRI quota seat allotment to bring more clarity and fairness to the process. According to the official notice:
- Priority 1 includes NRI candidates and children of NRIs.
- Priority 2 covers first-degree relatives, such as real uncles, aunts, and grandparents, as well as second-degree relatives like cousins.
This transparent categorization aims to ensure that genuine NRI candidates are given fair consideration during the NEET PG 2025 counselling process.
Guidelines for PwBD Candidates in NEET PG 2025
The MCC has also issued detailed guidelines for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) applying for postgraduate medical seats. Candidates must hold a valid UDID (Unique Disability ID) card and are required to submit the following documents at the designated disability assessment centres:
- NEET PG 2025 result card
- Self-certified affidavit
- Disability-specific affidavit
These documents will be verified to issue the official disability certificate, which is mandatory for availing PwBD quota benefits during counselling.
Challenges Faced During NEET PG 2025 Examination
The NEET PG 2025 examination has faced several challenges this year, including delays, legal scrutiny, and allegations of malpractice. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) disqualified 13 candidates for cheating and cancelled 22 results due to the use of unfair means.
Adding to the controversy, the personal data of over 1.38 lakh NEET PG aspirants was allegedly leaked online and sold on the dark web, leading to widespread concerns over data privacy and examination integrity.
The delay in announcing the NEET PG 2025 counselling schedule is largely due to an ongoing Supreme Court petition seeking transparency in the exam process. The petition challenges the NBEMS for releasing only question-ID-wise responses without publishing full question papers, which candidates argue limits fairness and accountability. The Supreme Court has scheduled the next hearing for October 28, 2025.
What’s Next for NEET PG 2025 Aspirants
Once the Supreme Court ruling is delivered, the MCC NEET PG counselling schedule for round 1 will be announced on the official website. Candidates will then be able to lock their choices, download allotment results, and report to their allotted colleges for admission, for more details CLICK HERE
