The Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) has officially revised the Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TNTET) 2025 exam dates due to administrative reasons. According to the latest notification, TNTET Paper 1 will now be conducted on November 15, 2025, while TNTET Paper 2 is scheduled for November 16, 2025. This change comes after the initial schedule, which had Paper 1 and Paper 2 on November 1 and November 2, respectively.
The official statement read, “Due to administrative reasons, a revised notification has now been issued stating that the Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Tests will be conducted on November 15, 2025, for Paper I and on November 16, 2025, for Paper II.”
TNTET 2025: Paper 1 and Paper 2 Details
The TNTET Paper 1 is intended for candidates aspiring to become teachers for Classes 1 to 5 in government and private schools across Tamil Nadu. On the other hand, TNTET Paper 2 is for candidates aiming to teach Classes 6 to 8. Depending on their eligibility and teaching preferences, candidates can apply for either one or both papers.
The Tamil Nadu TET 2025 exam pattern will test candidates’ knowledge in child development, pedagogy, languages, mathematics, and environmental or social sciences, depending on the paper. Clearing TNTET is mandatory for candidates seeking teaching posts in Tamil Nadu schools.
TNTET 2025 Registration and Application Dates
The TNTET 2025 registration process is currently ongoing, and the last date to submit the TNTET 2025 application form is September 8, 2025. Eligible candidates can apply online through the official TNTET website by filling out the application form and paying the required examination fee.
The application correction window will remain open from September 9 to September 11, 2025, giving candidates a short period to edit or update any incorrect details in their submitted applications.
TNTET 2025 Examination Fee
The Tamil Nadu TET 2025 exam fee is ₹600 per application for general candidates. However, candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Caste Arunthathiyar (SCA), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Differently Abled categories will need to pay a reduced fee of ₹300 per application. Applicants appearing for both Paper 1 and Paper 2 must submit separate applications and pay the prescribed fee for each paper.
TNTET 2025 Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the TNTET 2025 exam, candidates must be at least 18 years old as of July 1, 2025. Notably, there is no upper age limit for appearing in the Tamil Nadu TET, making it open to both young aspirants and experienced candidates who wish to pursue a teaching career.
