The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially announced the detailed schedule for the Civil Services Mains Exam 2025, which will be conducted from 22nd August 2025 to 31st August 2025. The official timetable has been released on the UPSC portal and all eligible candidates are advised to check the notification carefully.
Candidates who cleared the UPSC Prelims 2025, which was held on 25th May 2025, are now eligible to appear for the Mains examination, the second stage of the Civil Services Examination (CSE). This year, the Commission aims to fill around 1105 vacancies in prestigious services such as the IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS, and other Central Group A and B services.
UPSC MAINS 2025 TIMETABLE
The Mains examination will be conducted over five days, with two shifts per day:
- Shift 1: 09:00 AM to 12:00 PM
- Shift 2: 02:30 PM to 05:30 PM

ADMIT CARD AND INSTRUCTIONS
All eligible candidates must download their admit cards well in advance from the UPSC website. It is mandatory to carry the admit card and a valid photo ID to the exam centre. Candidates must report at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS
- The exam will be held at various centres across India under strict guidelines.
- Candidates must adhere to the dress code, use of stationery, and prohibited items as specified by the Commission.
- Failure to appear in any paper will result in disqualification.
