Ohmkaram, a community-based organization rooted in cultural values and social responsibility, is actively involved in voluntary and charitable initiatives. Alongside extending support to its members, Ohmkaram is committed to uplifting the underprivileged and economically disadvantaged sections of society. One of its notable initiatives is the Ohmkaram Scholarship Fund, established in 2009 to support deserving, bright students from Kerala who face financial hardships in pursuing higher education.
The Ohmkaram Scholarship is a beacon of hope for students enrolled in professional courses across India. It provides financial assistance to help cover tuition fees and book expenses, enabling students to focus on their academic goals without the burden of financial stress. The initiative is driven by community support, and individuals are encouraged to participate either by volunteering to help run the program or by donating to the fund.
There are two types of scholarships under this program:
Donor-Sponsored Scholarship: Fully funded by individual donors, who have the freedom to select the scholarship recipient and determine the award amount.
General Fund Scholarship: Funded through member contributions and fundraising efforts. In this case, the Scholarship Committee is responsible for selecting recipients and deciding the amount awarded.
