The School of Archival Studies, under the prestigious National Archives of India, invites applications for admission to its One-Year Diploma Course in Archives and Records Management for the academic session 2025–26. This diploma program is designed to impart specialized training in the scientific management of archives and records, equipping students and professionals with the skills necessary to preserve the nation’s documentary heritage.
COURSE DURATION
The course will run from 03 November 2025 to 30 October 2026, offering intensive training through lectures, workshops, and practical assignments.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Applicants must meet one of the following academic qualifications with at least 50% aggregate marks:
- M.A. in History, with one optional paper in Modern Indian History (Post-1750)
- M.A. in Social Sciences, such as Anthropology, Sociology, Political Science, Economics, Linguistics, etc.
- M.Sc. in Applied or Physical Sciences
TOTAL SEATS AND RESERVATION
There are 30 seats in total, distributed as follows:
- 10 seats for candidates with M.A. (History)
- 10 seats for M.A. (Social Sciences) / M.Sc. (Applied/Physical Sciences)
- 10 seats reserved for sponsored candidates
AGE LIMIT
- Private candidates must be below 30 years of age
- Sponsored candidates must be below 50 years
SELECTION PROCESS
- For private candidates (20 seats), admission is based on a written test followed by an interview, with selection purely on merit.
- Sponsored candidates (10 seats) are exempted from the entrance exam and will be selected based on employer sponsorship and the recommendation of the Selection Committee.
SCHOLARSHIPS AND STIPENDS
- 10 scholarships of ₹3,000 per month are available for meritorious students
- 6 stipends of ₹1,500 per month are available for sponsored candidates
FEES
- Registration Fee: ₹100 for Indian and SAARC country applicants
- Course Fee: ₹1,500 (Indian/SAARC candidates), US$ 500 for foreign nationals
