PM Yasasvi Central Sector Scheme of Top Class Education in College 2025 – 26 Applications Open

The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, has invited applications for the PM YASASVI Central Sector Scheme of Top Class Education in Colleges for the academic year 2025–26. This centrally sponsored scheme is aimed at empowering meritorious students from Other Backward Classes (OBC), Economically Backward Classes (EBC), and De-notified, Nomadic & Semi-Nomadic Tribes (DNT) by providing financial assistance to pursue higher education in top-notch institutions across India.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

To be eligible for this scholarship, the applicant must:

• Belong to the OBC, EBC, or DNT category as recognized by the Central Government.
• Have secured admission in a full-time undergraduate program in a recognized top-class institution (including IITs, IIMs, AIIMS, NITs, NLUs, central universities, etc.) for the academic year 2025–26.
• Have passed Class 12 with at least 60% marks.
• Have an annual family income not exceeding ₹2.5 lakh from all sources.
• Not be availing any other scholarship for the same course.

BENEFITS OF THE SCHEME

Selected students under the PM YASASVI Top Class Education Scheme in colleges will receive:

• Full tuition fees and non-refundable charges of the institution.
• Living expenses at the rate of ₹3,000 per month.
• Books and stationery allowance up to ₹5,000 per annum.

• A one-time assistance of ₹45,000 for a computer or laptop with accessories.
• All benefits are provided through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the student’s Aadhaar-linked bank account.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

Applicants must upload the following documents while applying:

• Recent passport-sized photograph.
• Aadhaar Card or Aadhaar Enrollment ID.
• Caste certificate (OBC/EBC/DNT) issued by a competent authority.
• Income certificate issued by a government authority.
• Admission letter or bonafide certificate from the college/institution.
• Previous academic qualification certificates (especially Class 12).
• Bank account details (preferably linked with Aadhaar).

APPLICATION PROCESS & LAST DATE

Eligible candidates must apply online, and submit it before the tentative deadline of 31st October 2025.

Aspiring students are advised not to wait until the last minute and to check the NSP regularly for updates regarding application status and verification. This initiative by the Government aims to promote educational equity and ensure that students from disadvantaged backgrounds can access the highest quality of education without financial barriers.
