The Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi (IGRUA), India’s premier flying training institution under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India, has announced the opening of applications for its Ab-Initio to Commercial Pilot License (CPL) course for the 2025 session. Located in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, IGRUA continues to be the top destination for aspiring commercial pilots, offering state-of-the-art infrastructure and world-class flight training.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The comprehensive CPL training includes Commercial Pilot License with Multi-Engine Endorsement and Instrument Rating (IR) on Multi-Engine Aircraft.
An optional B.Sc. (Aviation) degree, run simultaneously with flight training, is also available (limited to 40 seats).
This integrated program is designed to meet the latest industry standards and ensure graduates are ready for both national and international aviation markets.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To apply for the CPL course, candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics, and English or an equivalent qualification.
Secure minimum marks: General Category: 50% in each subject. SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/EWS: 45% in each subject.
- Be unmarried.
- Meet the minimum height requirement: 158 cm.
- Be within the age limits (as of the last application date):
- General: 28 years
- OBC: 31 years
- SC/ST: 33 years
Additionally, candidates must pass the DGCA Class-I Medical Fitness Test to be considered eligible for flying training.
FEE STRUCTURE
- Training Fee: ₹45 Lakhs (to be paid in four quarterly installments over one year).
- Additional Costs: ₹2.5 Lakhs for uniforms, navigation tools, headsets, etc.
SELECTION PROCESS
The selection for the 2025 batch includes:
Online Entrance Exam: Covers General English, Physics, Mathematics, Reasoning, and Current Affairs. It will be objective-type with no negative marking.
Interview/Viva: Shortlisted candidates will appear for an in-person interview and document verification.
Pilot Aptitude & Psychometric Test: Conducted for those clearing the previous stages. Final selection depends on this critical assessment.
