Ministry of AYUSH: Essay Contest on International Day of Yoga 2025 Registrations Open

The Ministry of AYUSH, in collaboration with MyGov, invites citizens, students, and scholars across India to participate in a special essay writing competition to celebrate the International Day of Yoga 2025. This year’s theme, “Yoga for One Earth One Health,” reflects the holistic and interconnected nature of human, animal, and environmental well-being — rooted in the ancient yogic philosophy that advocates unity, compassion, peace, and balance.

This national-level competition encourages participants to delve into yoga’s profound relevance in the contemporary global health ecosystem and its transformative potential in addressing modern challenges.

OBJECTIVES OF THE COMPETITION

  1. To promote awareness of yoga’s cultural heritage and its contribution to global wellness.
  2. To highlight yoga’s role in combating pressing health and environmental issues.
  3. To encourage innovation and research, blending traditional yogic principles with modern science.
  4. To inspire critical reflection on yoga as a sustainable, solution-oriented approach to health crises.
  5. To engage and empower youth and academicians to shape the future trajectory of yoga in health and wellness.

ESSAY WRITING GUIDELINES

  • Format: Submit in PDF format, double-spaced, Times New Roman (size 12), with numbered pages.
  • Length: 800 to 1000 words. Word count must be stated at the end.
  • Language: English or Hindi.
  • Certification: All entries must include: “I (insert name) certify that this essay is solely written by me and no one else has any claim to the copyright.”
  • Theme: Essays must explore topics related to “Yoga for One Earth One Health.”

JUDGING CRITERIA

  1. Originality & Creativity: Fresh perspective and insightful ideas.
  2. Structure & Content: Clear organization and logical flow.
  3. Grammar & Accuracy: Proper language, punctuation, and spelling.
  4. Relevance to Theme: Focused and well-connected to the topic.
  5. Wow Factor: Unique vocabulary, clever expressions, and a distinctive voice.

REWARDS AND RECOGNITION

  • Top 16 winners will receive a Rs. 2,000 cash/kind award and a certificate from the Ministry of AYUSH.
  • Top 10 entries will receive special mentions on Ministry of AYUSH’s social media platforms.
