National Water Awards 2023 registrations started

Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation (DoWR, RD & GR), Ministry of Jal Shakti has launched the 5th National Water Awards (NWA) 2023

To Encourage the various stakeholder for adopting innovative practices of ground water augmentation by rainwater harvesting and artificial recharge, promoting water use efficiency, recycling & re-use of water and creating awareness through people’s participation National Water Awards (NWA) were launched

ELIGIBILITY

Any State, District, Village Panchayat, Urban Local Body, School, College, Institution, Industry, Civil Society, Water User Association and an Individual who has done good work in the field of water conservation and management  are eligible to apply

NUMBER OF AWARDEES

A total of 32 awardees to be honoured with the National Water Awards

WHO CAN NOMINATE

Self in respect of Best Individual for Excellence, and Secretary / Principal Secretary of concerned State Departments, District Collector / District Magistrate / Principal / Head of School / Head of the Institution/ Industry / Organisation /Association can nominate for other categories of awards.

SELECTION PROCESS

Applications received are scrutinized by a Screening Committee of the Department & shortlisted applications are placed before the Jury Committee which is constituted by the Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Ministry of Jal Shakti, recommendations of the Committee are submitted to the Hon’ble Minister (Jal Shakti) for approval

TROPHY AND CITATION

Trophy and Citation will be given for Best State (1st, 2nd & 3rd winners) & Best District are awarded for each of 5 zones i.e. Northern, Southern, Western, Eastern & North Eastern

Trophy and Citation along with Cash Prize (1st Winner – Rs Lakh, 2nd Winner – Rs 1.5 Lakh, 3rd Winner – Rs 1 Lakh) will be given to awardees in Best Village Panchayat, Best Urban Local Body, Best School or College, Best Industry, Best Civil Society, Best Water User Association and Best Individual for Excellence

LAST DATE

The last date to submit nominations for the 5th National Water Awards (NWA) 2023 is 15th December 2023
