Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR) invites applications for admission to Master of Science (MSc) in Economics:  A two year programme commencing August 2023 and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Development Studies: A  four / five year programme commencing August 2023

IMPORTANT DATES

The applications for Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR) M.Sc and Ph.D programmes can be submitted till 21st April 2023, Interviews are tentatively scheduled during the third or fourth week of June 2023, Online test to be held on 6th May 2023

ELIGIBLITY 

The applicants to M.Sc and Ph.D programmes must have studied Mathematics at the higher secondary or higher level.

SCHOLARSHIP

For M.Sc programme the need-based scholarship is available as per Institute’s norms, For Ph.D programme the students will receive a monthly stipend of ₹31,000 in the first two years. Subsequently, after fulfilling the terms and conditions for PhD registration, students will receive a monthly stipend of ₹43,750

SELECTION

Candidates applying to the MSc and PhD programmes of the Institute will be selected based on their performance in an online test and an interview. The online tests for MSc and PhD applicants will be held separately but at the same time

EXAM PATTERN

For MSc Programme the Entrance Exam to be  based on Comprehension and English, Basic Mathematics (higher secondary level), and either Economics or Advanced Mathematics at the undergraduate level

For PhD Programme the Entrance Exam to be  based on Comprehension and English, and Basic Mathematics (higher secondary level).
