The Talent Support Stipend Programme 2024-25, introduced by the West Bengal Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (WBMDFC) under the Minority Affairs and Madrasah Education Department, Government of West Bengal, is a significant step toward empowering students from minority communities through education. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To qualify for this stipend, applicants must:
- Be Indian citizens and residents of West Bengal
- Belong to one of the designated minority communities: Christian, Muslim, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, or Parsi
- Be currently enrolled in any course ranging from Class 11 to a Ph.D. programme within West Bengal
- Have scored at least 50% marks in their last qualifying examination
- Have a family income of less than ₹2,00,000 per annum from all sources
BENEFITS
Under this programme, selected candidates will receive financial assistance of up to ₹4,900, depending on their level of study and other eligibility factors. - Marksheet/certificates of the last qualifying examination
- Domicile certificate (as proof of residence in West Bengal)
- Caste certificate confirming minority status
- Income certificate issued by a competent authority
- Copy of bank passbook
- Institute verification form, duly signed and authenticated by the Head of the Institution
SELECTION CRITERIA
Selection will be based on a combination of academic merit and financial need. Priority will be given to students who show strong academic performance and come from families with lower incomes.
