Post matric Scholarship for Students with Disabilities 2024 – 25 Applications underway

Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India has invited online applications for the Post matric Scholarship for Students with Disabilities for the year 2024 – 25

Post matric Scholarship for Students with Disabilities open to students with benchmark disability i.e. 40% or more disability as defined in Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 and having a valid certificate of disability issued by the competent authority as prescribed under Rules,

No two children with disabilities of the same parents are entitled to receive benefits of the scheme, Post matric Scholarship for Students with Disabilities are given for studying in any class for only one year,

Post-matric scholarships are not awarded for training courses like Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s Courses and Private Pilot license Courses, Students who are pursuing two different courses of study simultaneously can avail the scholarship for any one course only, Students who pursue their studies through correspondence courses are also eligible

ELIGIBLITY

Students with Disabilities (40% or more disability) studying in Class 11 / class 12 / Diploma / Under Graduation (UG) / Post Graduation (PG) from any University recognized by UGC / AICTE., Annual income of parents from all sources less than Rs 2.5 Lakh are eligible to apply

DISABILITY ALLOWANCE

Visual Impairment or Intellectual Disabilities under Post matric Scholarship for Students with Disabilities will be given Rs 4000 per annum Disability allowance, while All other types of disabilities will be given Rs 2000 per annum

BENEFIT

Under the Post matric Scholarship for Students with Disabilities Maintenance allowance (Per month) for Day Scholar – Rs 550  – Rs 750 and Hosteller – Rs 900 – Rs 1600, Book Allowance (per annum) – Rs 1500

DOCUMENTS

The documents required to apply for Post matric Scholarship for Students with Disabilities are photograph, proof of age, disability certificate, income certificate of the parent, tuition fees receipt, last academic qualification certificate

UDID/UDID enrolment mandatory for availing the benefits of the Scholarship scheme, Candidates have to undergo Aadhaar based biometric authentication to get benefits of the Scholarship,

Online applications for the Post matric Scholarship for Students with Disabilities for the year 2024 – 25 to be submitted within 31st October 2024
