The Council of Architecture (CoA) has officially invited online applications for the Post Graduate Entrance Test in Architecture (PGETA 2025). This national-level entrance exam is a mandatory requirement for admission into 2-year M.Arch and allied postgraduate programmes offered by CoA-approved institutions across India for the academic session 2025–2026.
PGETA 2025 is designed to streamline postgraduate architecture admissions and ensure a standardized evaluation of candidates. With three attempts allowed, students have the opportunity to perform their best, as the highest score among the attempts will be considered.
IMPORTANT DATES
- Last date to apply for Test 1: 26th April 2025
- Test 1 date: 4th May 2025
- Last date to apply for Test 2: 19th May 2025
- Test 2 date: 25th May 2025
- Last date to apply for Test 3: 9th June 2025
- Test 3 date: 15th June 2025
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Candidates must:
- Hold a B.Arch degree (5-year) or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Have obtained a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying degree.
- Final-year B.Arch students are also eligible to apply.
TEST STRUCTURE AND FORMAT
- Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT)
- Duration: 2 hours (10:00 AM to 12:00 PM)
- Syllabus: Based on architectural aptitude, design thinking, construction technology, environmental sustainability, and current trends in architecture
- Attempts Allowed: 3 (best score valid)
- Score Validity: 2 years
The application fee is ₹1,750 for General and OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates, and ₹1,250 for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
TEST CENTRES AND PREFERENCES
PGETA 2025 will be conducted in over 65 cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Patna, and Guwahati. Applicants may select three preferred cities for test locations during registration.
SCHOLARSHIPS AND BENEFITS
The top 100 rank holders will receive a scholarship of ₹25,000 per year for two years, amounting to a total of ₹50,000. This initiative aims to support academic excellence in architectural education.
