National Overseas Scholarship Scheme (NOS) for ST candidates for the year 2023 – 24 announced

Online applications are invited by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, for the National Overseas Scholarship Scheme (NOS) from ST candidates for the selection year 2023-24. The National Overseas Scholarship is awarded to ST candidates selected for pursuing higher studies abroad at the Masters level, Ph.D and Post-Doctoral Research programmes

In the year 1999 after the bifurcation of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment the Ministry of Tribal Affairs was set up a with the objective of providing more focused approach on the integrated socio-economic development of the Scheduled Tribes, programmes and schemes of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs  taking into account the situation of STs through financial assistance, to support and supplement other Central Ministries, State Governments and partly of voluntary organizations, and to fill critical gaps in institutions, the schemes and programmes are launched

National Overseas Scholarship Scheme (NOS) for ST candidates is a Central Sector Scheme of Ministry of Tribal Affairs and every year 20 fresh ST students are given scholarship for pursuing Master Degree, Ph.D, Post-Doctoral courses at abroad.
