Mumbai University UG, PG Admissions 2025 Applications Open

The University of Mumbai has officially commenced the pre-registration process for admissions to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses for the academic year 2025. Aspiring students seeking admission to arts, science, commerce, engineering, and management colleges affiliated with Mumbai University are now eligible to submit their application forms through the university’s official portal.

In a significant development, the university has made it mandatory for all applicants to register using an Academic Bank of Credit (ABC) ID. This move follows the University Grants Commission (UGC) directive, which made the ABC ID compulsory for college admissions starting from 2023. The ABC system ensures the academic records of students are digitally stored and transferable across institutions, enhancing transparency and flexibility in higher education.

Addressing all principals and directors of aided and unaided colleges offering UG and PG programs, the University of Mumbai clarified that the pre-registration process will be conducted in two phases:

Pre-registration – to be done before the results of the qualifying examinations are declared.

Normal registration – to be completed after the announcement of results.

To apply for MU admissions 2025, students must first fill out the online registration form and generate their login credentials. Applicants are required to enter personal details such as name (as per Aadhaar), permanent address, educational qualifications, and caste/category details for reservation. Additionally, uploading a recent photograph, signature, and other necessary documents is mandatory for successful submission.

For PG aspirants, the university has advised that students must clearly indicate the course they wish to pursue at the time of pre-admission registration. The MU pre-admission registration link is already active for use by applicants.

KEY GUIDELINES INCLUDE

  • Registration using a valid email address and mobile number.
  • Information must match exactly with that provided on the Aadhaar card.
  • It is mandatory to link the ABC ID via the Samarth portal during the post-registration phase.
  • Applicants will be able to log in to the admission portal only using their registered email address.
