Madras School of Economics M.A admissions 2025 Applications Open

The prestigious Madras School of Economics (MSE), recognized as an Institution of Special Importance by the Government of Tamil Nadu and included under the State Legislature Act by the UGC, has opened admissions for its two-year full-time M.A. programs for the academic year 2025-26. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Applicants must hold an undergraduate degree in the relevant fields. Students appearing for their final undergraduate exams in the academic year 2025 are also eligible to apply. The minimum marks required are:

• 55% for General Category
• 50% for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)
• 45% for SC/ST/PwD candidates

Additionally, candidates should not be over 25 years of age as of 1st July 2025 and must have studied Mathematics at the plus-two level to be eligible for admission.

SEATS AND RESERVATION

Each M.A. program offers a total of 47 seats, with 35% reserved for resident students of Tamil Nadu, promoting inclusive education opportunities for local candidates.

SELECTION PROCEDURE

Admission will be based on a national-level Entrance Test, conducted at designated centers across India. This ensures a transparent and merit-based selection process.
