KSOU invite applications for Ph.D admissions 2023 – 24

Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) has invited applications for Admission to Ph.D. Programmes 2023-24 (Regular Mode), Interested and Eligible candidates to submit application in the format for admission to the Ph.D. Programmes in the following studies & Research Departments in Kannada, Political Science, Geography, Bio-technology, Hindi, Journalism, and Mass Communication, Chemistry, Micro Biology, Telugu, Commerce, Bio Chemistry, Education, Economics, Ph.D programme is offered in regular mode only 

Candidates with Master’s degree or a professional degree (equivalent thereto) with at least 55% marks in aggregate its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale are eligible to apply for admission to the Ph.D. 

Eligible Candidates shall appear for Common Entrance Test (CET) , Candidates who have qualified UGC / GC-CSIR, JRF Test / NET / GATE / GRE / M.Phil shall be exempted from appearing to CET, Last date for submitting Application without penal fee is 30th June 2023, Application received after the last date will not be accepted and fees paid will not be refunded.

Candidates should pay application fees of Rs 2000 for General Category and Rs 1000 for Reserved Category, Entrance Test is scheduled to be held on 23rd July 2023, results to be announced on 31st July 2023, The CET would be conducted at Mysore

The Ph.D admissions 2023 – 24 entrance examination to be conducted for 100 marks carrying Multiple Choice Questions. Number of Questions is 100 questions, each question carry 1 mark. The syllabus of the Common Entrance Test shall consist of 50% of research methodology and 50% shall be subject specific. A candidate securing at least 50 marks out of 100 (45 Marks out of 100 for reserved category) in the Entrance Test shall be eligible for assessment interview for admission to the Ph.D. programme.
