KSET 2024 Exam notification out, Apply from July 22

Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) has released the detailed notification for Karnataka State Eligibility Test (KSET) 2024 for Assistant Professors, As per the notification released the online applications can be submitted from 22nd July 2024, Last date to submit application is 22nd August 2024, Last date for the payment of application fees is 26th August 2024, Examination is scheduled to be held on 24th November 2024

Candidates who qualify the KSET – 2024 are governed by the recruitment rules and regulations stipulated for the post of Assistant Professors of Karnataka State

Candidates who have secured at least 55% of marks for general category and 50% for reserved category in Master’s Degree are eligible to apply .

Candidates who are pursuing their Master’s Degree (First or Second Semester) or equivalent course or candidates who have appeared for their Master’s Degree (Final Year) examination and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply 

Candidate who became eligible in Previous KSETs are not eligible to apply again in the same subject, There is no upper age limit to apply for KSET, General Category students to pay Rs 1000 Examination fees and Rs 700 by Reserved Category, KSET consist of two papers. Both the papers will consist of only objective type Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs).

Paper-I: Shall consist of 50 objective type compulsory questions each carrying 2 marks. The questions which will be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate

Paper – II: Shall consist of 100 objective type compulsory questions each carrying 2 marks which will be based on the subject selected by the candidate. The candidates are required to obtain minimum marks in aggregate of all two papers, For general category 40% of aggregate marks in all the two papers taken together and reserved category 35% of aggregate marks in all the two papers taken together

Karnataka State Higher Education Minister Dr. M.C Sudhakar said that steps will be taken to conduct the Karnataka State Assistant Professor Eligibility Test (K-SET) soon through the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA),

He added the State Government has taken steps to conduct K-SET through the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) so that no eligible students are inconvenienced.

He further informed that the examination will be conducted after the completion of the normal process of UGC

University of Mysore announced the revised Exam dates of Karnataka State Eligibility Test (KSET) 2021 for Assistant Professorship which was postponed earlier due to ongoing COVID 19 pandemic,

KSET 2021 Examination will be conduced  in 41 subjects at Eleven (11) Nodal Centers spread across the Karnataka state, the allotment of seats for the candidates will be announced prior to the Exams

SCHEME OF EXAM

The KSET 2021 Exam will consist of two papers. Both the papers will consist of only objective type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

Paper-I: : The Paper 1 Contains 50 objective type compulsory questions, with each Question carrying 2 marks. The questions which will be of general nature type, related  to assess the teaching, research aptitude of the candidates, the questions are being designed to test the reasoning ability, comprehension, general awareness and divergent thinking of the candidates.

Paper – II: The Paper 2 contains 100 objective type compulsory questions, with each Question carrying 2 marks and the questions will be based on the subject selected by the candidates, out of 41 Subjects any 1 subject Candidate can choose.

The candidates need to mark the answers for questions of Paper 1 and Paper 2 on the Optical Marks Reader (OMR) Sheet given along with the Question booklet.
