Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) are a flagship initiative by the Government of India to provide quality education to tribal students across the country. Established under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, these schools aim to empower tribal communities by ensuring access to holistic education that combines academic learning with extracurricular development. EMRS caters specifically to Scheduled Tribe (ST) students from Classes 6 to 12, offering free education, boarding, and lodging facilities.
The curriculum aligns with national standards, focusing on academic excellence while integrating cultural heritage to preserve tribal identity. Facilities include well-equipped classrooms, libraries, laboratories, and sports amenities to foster all-round development. Students also receive career guidance and skill development opportunities, preparing them for competitive exams and future careers.
Admissions are merit-based, with entrance exams conducted by respective state authorities or designated agencies. The program seeks to address educational disparities and promote inclusive growth by bridging gaps in access to quality education for marginalized communities
