The Karnataka State Government has officially released instructions regarding the Policy Framework for the implementation of the Karnataka Arogya Sanjeevani Scheme (KASS) for state government employees. This landmark scheme, initiated in collaboration with the Suvarna Arogya Suraksha Trust (SAST), is designed to provide comprehensive cashless healthcare services to employees and their eligible dependents.
As per the updated notification, the definition of “family dependents” eligible under KASS includes the Husband, Wife, Parents (both Father and Mother), and Children, including adopted children of the government employee. This inclusive approach ensures that all immediate family members are covered under the health scheme.
To streamline the enrollment process, the government has released a standard application form that must be filled out by the eligible government employees. This form should be submitted through the Head of Office, typically where the Service Register of the employee is maintained or to the Reporting Officer/Head of Department (DDO).
The Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) have been instructed to enter the relevant details of employees and their family members into the Human Resource Management System (HRMS) portal for centralized tracking and benefit management. The successful implementation of KASS hinges on accurate data entry and verification through this digital platform.
To complete the enrollment process, employees must submit the following documents along with the application form:
- Photographs of all dependent family members (Each photo must be signed and dated by the employee)
- Aadhaar Card copies for all dependents
- Date of Birth Certificates (where applicable)
- Latest Pay Slip
- Any other supporting documents as required
Additionally, a self-declaration form by the employee must accompany the application, certifying the accuracy of all information and affirming the dependents listed are legitimate and eligible under the scheme.
This Gazette notification marks a crucial step in ensuring that state government employees in Karnataka receive accessible, reliable, and transparent healthcare benefits. With streamlined procedures and digital integration through HRMS, KASS is set to become a robust pillar of employee welfare in the state.
